Do you love theatre and outdoor adventures? Each summer, the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts (WICA) Youth Summer Conservatory introduces Whidbey Island youth to the magic of theatre. This two-week adventure camp is filled with acting and the great outdoors. Youth ages 10-14 gain first-hand experience in costume and set design, music and lighting, and the performing arts. Registration Opening Soon!

week One

Week One will be spent at WICA, discovering all the secrets of the backstage experience, learning a script, and rehearsing a play. Participants will learn about lighting, sound, costuming, and sets as they build their own show on the main stage.

week Two

Week Two will take place on the outdoor Storyhouse Stage at the Whidbey Institute where we will add in all the elements that bring a story to life—while exploring the magical forest around us. Each day we will rehearse on the stage, walk in the woods, and picnic in the meadow.

The 106 Acre Wood Came to Whidbey Island

In August 2024, 12 island youth came together for a memorable, two-week summer camp. Exploring the stories of Winnie-the-Pooh and all his friends, this fun-filled experience made the arts come to life, filled the Whidbey woods with laughter, and brought joy to many faces.
