A cutting-edge version of the classic piano/bass/drums trio.
The first thing the Walt Wagner Trio’s WICA audience will experience is the joy of watching three compatible, powerhouse jazz musicians playing together.
Based in Seattle, Walt Wagner has been a prominent figure in Seattle’s land-mark, fine-dining restaurant, Canlis, as resident pianist. Playing his versions of everything from jazz and pop standards to current hits, his style continues to broaden and evolve. Wagner’s retirement from 20 years at Canlis and live-streamed finale concert resulted in the Sub Pop Records live album release of “Reworks”. This commemorated not only an end of an era, but also the continuation of Wagner’s performance career, including five recent Walt Wagner Trio shows at Jazz Alley.
