Ticketing policy

1. General Terms & Conditions of ticketing at WICA

  • Purchasing a ticket to a Whidbey Island Center for the Arts (WICA) event constitutes agreement to this ticketing policy.

  • Our building and surrounding outdoor space are intended for the safe enjoyment of all artists, visitors, and staff.

  • The following are disallowed except by written permission from the Executive Artistic Director:

    • Commercial activities, including tour groups, filming, photography, or audio recording.

    • Demonstrations, rallies, soliciting, leafletting, promotion and any third party vending.

  • Disruptive, threatening, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Patrons engaging in such behavior may be asked to leave without a refund.

  • WICA reserves the right to flexibility when it comes to implementing changes based on artist needs and/or artist’s manager’s prerogatives which may impact the event. Any significant changes to the event will be communicated with ticket holders with as much grace of timing is possible. If any changes made are unsatisfactory, please contact the Executive Artistic Director or Managing Director.

2. Ticket Sales & Pricing

  • For most events WICA produces, we have a standard ticketing structure. This structure is as follows, and in all cases there are no seating “bands” of pricing, so all seats are available for all prices:

    • Standard ticket: $30

    • Star ticket: $45
Star tickets allow patrons to purchase above and beyond the standard price to allow us flexibility to pay artist’s fees and heighten the quality of productions. As a token of thanks, Star tickets also come with a complimentary beverage from the bar or concessions area.

    • 20 for 20 Accessibility tickets: We hold 20 tickets to be sold at $20 each for most standard events. These tickets are only available through the box office.

    • Youth 18 and Under: Free   |   For all WICA produced and age appropriate shows, we enable Youth 18 and Under to enter for free. These free youth tickets must be secured through the box office.

    • Pay What You Wish: To further our mission of providing accessible opportunities to see the arts, we have several shows in the year that are PWYW enabled. For example, every Thursday performance of our Theatre Series runs are PWYW enabled. In order to Pay What You Wish, you must come to the box office as a walk-up prior to the start of the show.

  • Exceptions to this structure are as follows:

    • Matinee Theatre Series shows have a $25 Standard / $35 Star base price

    • Art Talks are $18 Standard / $28 Star

    • Films are $15 Standard / $25 Star

    • Festival pricing and Festival pass pricing are subject to different pricing rules.

    • Special Events and high cost artist fee shows are subject to a higher single ticket that may or may not include a Star option.

    • Rental shows, at times, will choose to use our standard ticket pricing or not, and if not, may use a single ticket price for all seats.

  • Tickets can be purchased online through WICAonline.org or Purchase.wicaonline.org, or through the box office, either in-person or over the phone.

  • WICA does not sell tickets to their events through third party vendors. If you have an option to buy a WICA event ticket through a third party vendor, we do not guarantee or honor that ticket as valid.

  • WICA has a simple fee structure. There is a $1.00 fee per each ticket sold through the box office, and an additional $1.00 fee per each ticket sold online. WICA members at Artisan level and higher do not pay ticketing fees.

  • Ticket prices for an event will not change once any tickets have been sold to an event.

3. Refunds, Exchanges, & Cancellations

  • Tickets are refundable up until 24 hours prior to the event, and only refundable through the box office. Ticketing fees are not refunded.

  • If an event is rescheduled or canceled for any reason, including unforeseen circumstances like weather or a natural disaster, ticket holders will have the option to receive a full refund, or donate the cost of the tickets to WICA, or credit their account with the cost of the tickets for a future WICA purchase.

  • Ticket exchanges are possible but not guaranteed. Please contact the box office if you need to exchange your ticket for a different date or event.

  • If a ticket is lost, stolen, or damaged, contact the box office and they can reissue.

4. Transferability & Resale

  • Tickets are transferable to another party. If the patron possesses the tickets and physically hands them off to the new party, that is acceptable, or if their tickets are at will-call they will need to contact the box office and alert them of the transfer.

  • WICA tickets are not permitted to be purchased and then re-sold as a third party.

5. Event Entry & Attendance

  • Bring your print at home ticket or mobile device containing the barcoded ticket to the event, or pick up your tickets at the Box Office Will Call. Tickets will be scanned upon entry.

  • Unless otherwise noted, doors to the Center will open one hour prior to the start of the show.

  • Late seating: will be done at the discretion of the House Manager, following the policies set by the artist and/or their production personnel, and will vary event to event. Sometimes late seating is allowed at any time, other times late seating will not be allowed until intermission or breaks in the performance.

  • Any age restrictions or parental guidance recommendations that are pertinent to an event will be noted on the event description when purchasing tickets.

  • Prohibited items: Weapons of any kind, including firearms or knives are prohibited. This applies to attendees, staff, and visitors.

  • WICA has seats dedicated to patron’s using their own wheelchair, and if these seats are needed/required the box office must be informed when the tickets are being purchased. WICA maintains numerous sets of listening devices that can be used by patron’s during the event, and these can be requested prior to the start of the show.

  • By attending an event at WICA, you may or may not have your image captured in an audience photo or a video taking place on the premises, to be used as WICA sees fit, including promotional material on the website, or in-house videos. Your attendance of the show gives us your permission to capture and use these photos at our will. You may contact the EAD or Managing Director to revoke this permission, if applicable.
