An evening of poetry and music.
"...I want to put my
face down into the dirt
between the flowers,
to take the scent with me in
case heaven is frugal.
We are circling the wagons
in the embers of our days;
On the minus side, grasping,
on the plus love.
I cannot afford laziness now,
I must climb through rainbows,
turn my face to the storms
save as many people as I can,
and row out first thing in the morning
to partner the sunrise and
over the water sea birds cracking the sky.
Everyday closer to the
winds of the universe."
We circle the wagons of our lives. We get closer to sunset, to the vicinity of the essential self. ”You are the foot soldier of the heart that hauls others out of sorrow. By all means have your bags packed, but we are circling the wagons of the woman we love.”
